Since the founding of Comp-Ray in 1980, the company’s strategy has been to build our reputation as the high value alternative in the Arizona medical imaging market. The founders came to the task from strong service backgrounds. They had worked in both the OEM and private service sectors. They sensed that a unique opportunity was available for an independent service organization that could provide the market with service and equipment products that brought real added value to the radiology customer base. That strategy has served both Comp-Ray and Comp-Ray’s customers well over the years, resulting in a strong growth in our number of satisfied customers. When Steve Gipson and I assumed ownership of the company in June of 2006, we pledged to continue the follow the founder’s example. We believe that by distributing a carefully selected portfolio of products that we know are capable of bringing real cost effective value to our customers that we could form a strong foundation for our business. By remaining independent of both national purchasing contracts and exclusive distributorships, we feel we retain the opportunity and means to provide our customers with the unbiased advice and innovative service that can help enable our customer base to meet the complex technical needs of the era.
By strategically locating our highly diversified service team at key areas around the state, we can provide the timely service that yields downtime reductions and genuine improvements in our customer's bottom line. We believe that in order to provide correctly priced products and services in today's healthcare market our infrastructure must mirror that of our customers. Our overhead must be held in check, the solutions we offer must be cost effective for all concerned, and the consultative input that we provide our customers must result in the type of positive result that builds solid long-term relationships.
Most importantly, we knew that we could only grow to meet these lofty goals if we hired only top quality people. We hired people that know our customer base, know the medical imaging marketplace, and who are themselves known and trusted in the local market. The original strategy was a simple one. Hire only the best people, provide quality products, manage the business within its means, and apply common sense to the issues confronting our customers. The best measure of the success of the original strategy is that after all these years it remains basically unchanged, and Comp-Ray is nearly five times the size it was at the turn of the millennium.
Today, Comp-Ray is the largest Independent X-Ray Sales and Service Organization in the state of Arizona, and perhaps the entire Southwest. In 2000, we established a location in Tucson to cover the southern portion of the state more effectively. We have been extremely gratified in the confidence our southern customer base has shown in this new branch of Comp-Ray. We represent a distinguished list of quality OEM's like Canon, Quantum, Shimadzu, AGFA, Rad Link, AMS, and hundreds of other time tested manufacturers. We service just about every radiology modality at extremely cost effective rates. We maintain the areas largest supply of used and reconditioned parts, which enable Comp-Ray to provide cost effective alternatives to new replacements and extend the life span of some otherwise, obsolete equipment. The products and services we offer must first meet our rigorous requirements. If they fail, they will not be offered to our customers.
Well into our third decade of existence, Comp-Ray continues to face industry challenges that mirror those of our customers. The reality of cost effective electronic/digital imaging is present at all levels of the industry. The rewards are potentially very substantial, but the effort required to facilitate a smooth transition should not be underestimated. Comp-Ray's strong electronic service background proves invaluable in providing our customers with viable digital electronic imaging solutions. Our service team brings over five hundred combined years of electronic service experience to the task at hand. In the Electronic/Digital/PACs environment, images will no longer be processed on film in relatively simple mechanical devices. The new image handling devices are Lasers, Digitizers, CR and DR systems whose technical complexity require strong computer and electronic backgrounds. Our service team is large, trained, ready, and completely up to the job.
We appreciate your taking the time to investigate the capabilities of Comp-Ray, Inc. I would like to provide my personal assurance, that whether your business with us entails a simple supply item, a service issue, or the purchase of a complex piece of imaging or generating equipment, your order will receive my personal attention. We invite you to call on Comp-Ray soon, and "DISCOVER THE DIFFERENCE."
Sincerely,
